If you encounter problems with an installed SOLIDWORKS product (e.g. SOLIDWORKS Premium, Simulation, PDM, Inspection, Electrical etc.) you can use the repairing SOLIDWORKS tool in the Installation Manager to repair the installation of the product.

Here are the steps for repairing SOLIDWORKS:

Step 1.Make sure you have the SOLIDWORKS installation files. If you installed from the SOLIDWORKS DVD, place the DVD into the drive. If you installed from a file set downloaded directly from solidworks.com, make sure the files are present in the SOLIDWORKS Downloads folder.

Step 2.If using Windows 10, go to Go toSettingsand thenApps & Features. If using Windows 7, go to theWindows Control Paneland launchPrograms and Features.

Step 3.From the list of installed programs find the SOLIDWORKS installation, select it and clickModify. (If using Windows 7 select the SOLIDWORKS installation and clickChange)

Please Note:If theonlyoption available isUninstall, then SOLIDWORKS was installed using an Administrative Image and a different procedure should be followed. Have your IT administrator contact your SOLIDWORKS Value Added Reseller for further instructions.

Step 4.Select theRepair the individual installationoption and clickNext.

Step 5.Select theSOLIDWORKS productyou wish to repair and clickRepair.

The repair process may take quite some time to complete in some situations. Once it is done a confirmation screen will display.
